All sandworms died

I'm a level 16 Dwarf Arcane Blade exploring the sandworm maze on level 5, when all of a sudden no more sandworm tunnels appear on my mini-map. I can't escape the small room I'm in so thank goodness the two staircases are next to eachother because I had to use several lucky chances with a phase door scroll to make it past the level and back. I think all the sandworms died because no matter how long I rest, no tunnels appear and using sense shows nothing. Perhaps this is allowed to happen from the sandworms getting poisoned from the traps, but it probably shouldn't or I might have been trapped forever!

I think they need to occasionally spawn if there aren't enough on the map.

How long did you stay on the level ?

Is there something like immunities in the current code? If yes, the easiest way to avoid this should be to make sandworm burrowers immune to poison...

Yeah I jsut made t hem invulnerable, but still they have over 10Khp, how long did you wait for them to die ? :)

The sandworms lose ~half their health when a tunnel collapses on them. I think this happens if they unluckily go into a "clear" spot that was tunneled by another worm a while ago, and then it collapses on them right after.

I think the most common scenario for their death is:
- 1 tunnel collapse -> 50% HP
- A bit of regen -> 52% HP
- 1 more tunnel collapse -> 2% HP
then die from another tunnel collapse or poison

Ya, I was training for a long time in anticipation for the boss, I just found it weird how they all died at around the same time, and none of them came back even after level decay.

Yeah level decay wont regen them.
They are a precious ressource :)

Hurrah for invulnerable to collapse (and poison?) sandworms. Now I will actually be able/willing to do the lair!

Yes, that was beta6. They still get poisoned too, though I guess that's as big a deal.
