Ability to move hourglass in caldera

#1 Post by Marcus Aseth »

As you can see in the image below, my current interface setup end up hiding the hourglass, would be very nice to if it was possible to unlock the UI an move the hourglass somewhere else, but as for now it appear to be fixed in that place :)

The hourglass sadly is part of the ressource bar block, which is why it is stuck there in your arrangement. I have a similar problem on my setup with the hourglass moving out of the southern end of the screen if I have too many different ressources shown.

So, you can move it, but it would be helpful if it was its own block.

I remember having a different problem. not sure if was fixed.

While hourglass appeared to be behind, if you tried to click anything over it, you would somehow click the hourglass instead, making those talents unusable.
Unless you right click the target... or pressed (by default i believe it was) m.

Well could still be fixed other ways, the hourglass could stay there but the timer could appear somewhere else, for instance as a free sustained effect on the player, so in my UI would appear to the left and everything would be fine :)
Or even as a message in the Log, telling you every turn how many turns are left.
Wathever it is, as long as I get to keep my personal UI in place xD

Once I'm done with the rewrite of the gfx stack, the hourglass will be independant.
I can't (won't) change it for now though because the more changes I do to UI now the more annoying it is to backport to the new renderer.
But know this wont be forgotten (as i'ts already implemented there ;) )
[tome] joylove: You can't just release an expansion like one would release a Kraken XD

What would also be nifty: being able to change the "direction" of one of those tabs, and being able to dock them to each other.

For example, I have my ressource bars on the lower right where I got some space to the left of the action bars. Above that I have the buff/debuff columns.
The problem with those two is, that if one of them gets very long, they start to overlap with each other and grow out of the lower border of the screen. If I could chose any direction for growth *and* link them to each other, that would solve all possible arrangement deficits.

Its nothing major, but since you seem to be doing some UI groundwork right now, it might be a good time to think about this functionality.
