You could have written it in any number of ways without saying 4e "destroyed" D&D, but you consciously did and immediately tried to play it off as nothing at all.
If I was trying to play something off, I wouldn't have written it in the first place. I am allowed to have an opinion. I did not say, anyone who likes 4th ed is [insert any derogatory comment here]. I simply said that the changes made from 3.5 to 4 did not work for me, hence my like of Pathfinder. I understand that you took offense to the way I worded that statement and it's apparent that you were already somehow frustrated when you read that comment and took what I was saying with way more weight than I intended it to be read with. I've played a few nights of encounters just recently and it isn't my cup of tea. For what it's worth, I apologize that my wording wasn't kinder. My personal opinion's will be left out and I will remove myself from this thread as I have no interest in getting into this with you or anyone else. I'm too old for this crap.

And lets face it... this disagreement has been going on since what 07-08?

on Shaloren

Make them Humanoid (Outsiders), just as the 'Lesser' variant of Planetouched in Forgotten Realms does (more specificly Players guide to Faerun).

Should bring them in line with some of the later races in 3.5, which other than for Humans was quite infested with power creep allready

I get where you both are coming from. Just as an observation: many people are likely to read "destroyed" as a weighty word. While I don't buy into E-Prime as a full-time prescription, I find some of the ideas really handy for forum communications. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/E-Prime

We don't really have to insult someone directly for them to feel an insult was made. If we insult something they like, many will take offense to that. That just seems to be the way we are made up.

That said, I have little interest in 4e as well (as a tabletop). It looks too close to a P&P WoW for my taste. Zonk makes a good point though: it might fit into ToME with fewer alterations to existing mechanics of either system. Dunno. Still love the idea of a ToME/3.5 Pathfinder mix.

I read this as: Make a rulebook so that you can play ToME P&P-style with a bunch of friends around a table. I'd dig it!

Thanks for that point at E-Prime. I will have to read up on it.

I am still available to assist if needed. Opinions checked at the door. To be quite honest, I don't care what format we would use, just that we make it. A P&P version of ToME would just be so fantastic.

Thought about this again, and with 5th edition now being around (and it basically being 3.x redone) I thought I'd bump/necro this. Anyone got any thoughts? Planning to make conversions to 5e?
