Ogre Reavers-- Dual Greatswords!
I was playing around with ogres the other day and was thinking an ogre reaver with five ranks of Grisly Constitution should be able to dual wield greatswords! Tell me how that isn't a great idea?
Re: Ogre Reavers-- Dual Greatswords!
Inherently imbalanced. You start with the ogre tradeoffs for one-handing a two-hander, and the reaver tradeoffs for offhanding a one-hander... and then you toss in the offhand upgrade to two-hander for free? N clean way to balance that. Also, it would make ogre dual-staff reavers entirely too powerful. Also, that would make ogre reaver *especially* good. They're already plenty awesome, and by the in-game descriptions, ogres wouldn't generally eb the kind to become reavers.
Re: Ogre Reavers-- Dual Greatswords!
While corruptor elves certainly employ ogres (see Dark Crypt), race-locking a class to that extent is a little silly.

Well, if the items all had user size category designations, and gender designations too, and could even take damage that would have to be repaired, your ogre could have two huge swords but rarely come across much of anything else that would fit, : P. How about a xorn with 4 greatswords or giant mauls, and a 5th in Beyond the Flesh; but I wouldn't think it could wear anything else, maybe some special item made for it, but none of the usual stuff, right?

*peeks in*
Having equipment size in a loot collection setup would be terrible. As it is, every character throws into the loot grinder upwards of 95 percent of everything they spot.

ToME Tips - auto-generated spoilers for ToME. - someone else made. I find super awesome, so spreading as well.

This would actually fix a lot of that because things not for you could be auto-segregated and you would not have to spend time looking into them and deciding about them, you would just auto-get gold from them, and then have your search narrowed down. It would reduce itemspam and add legitimate realism and allow for balancing like bigger characters using bigger weapons but they have a harder time getting some other items.

I think realism-based restrictions are fine for stricter roguelikes like Nethack or Dungeon Crawl, but don't really fit the tone or balance of ToME. You also don't have to worry about food, or breaking your foot kicking down a door. It's a different sort of game, which means different restrictions, even if those restrictions are cool in games like DC.

i unzipped a xorn addon to look in it and I see a talent there for what the OP wants called bro_i_lift, enables a 2hander in each hand, but I dont know how to get it into the game or if the code actually works. If I could modify a file and have the game load it instead of refusing to load it, I would try. not sure if this was made by the original xorn maker or the person who modified it but its in there for race orgrillon.
Re: Ogre Reavers-- Dual Greatswords!
That code works and I proved that a while ago when I released orgrillon originally, the problem with it was that when I coded it, I was using a rather hackandslashed version of Beyond the Flesh code and I have no idea how incompatible it is with anything else.xnd wrote:i unzipped a xorn addon to look in it and I see a talent there for what the OP wants called bro_i_lift, enables a 2hander in each hand, but I dont know how to get it into the game or if the code actually works.
