Make Luminescence a cross tier effect
If we mark the sub-type as cross-tier then wild infusions will ignore it and sun infusions will be less annoying.

That sounds awesome.
For a lot of early game characters, Wild Infusions are the main answer to Sun Infusions (not like you've had the chance to get gear or talent answers yet). That they have 50 percent fail rate due to Luminescence is a pity.

A wholehearted +1 to this suggestion.
Re: Make Luminescence a cross tier effect
Alternatively we can make wild infusions remove 2+ effects of a particular type.

Re: Make Luminescence a cross tier effect
Another easy fix is to make Luminescent a Magical effect instead of Physical.
Re: Make Luminescence a cross tier effect
It's supposed to be luminescent mold dust or something along those lines. Making it other and dropping the duration down to a turn or two would also work.

Should Infusions be doing Magical Effects? That doesn't seem to make thematic sense to me.Doctornull wrote:Another easy fix is to make Luminescent a Magical effect instead of Physical.
Its amazing what the mind can come up with, but it shows talent to make something of it. - Davion Fuxa

Re: Make Luminescence a cross tier effect
Considering there's no 'nature' effect category, I'm fine with that.
Addons: Arcane Blade Tweaks, Fallen Race, Monk Class, Weapons Pack
Currently working on Elementals. It's a big project, so any help would be appreciated.

The "Arcane" keyword is different from the "Magical" effect category.Davion Fuxa wrote:Should Infusions be doing Magical Effects? That doesn't seem to make thematic sense to me.Doctornull wrote:Another easy fix is to make Luminescent a Magical effect instead of Physical.
Note that there are spells which check Mindpower, and become enlightened.
Er, or Luminescent. Your choice.

I must say, a brilliant suggestion.

Magic can create mental and physical effects. The only stuff making magical effects should be magic.Doctornull wrote:The "Arcane" keyword is different from the "Magical" effect category.Davion Fuxa wrote:Should Infusions be doing Magical Effects? I'd like to lend my support to this idea and bring attention to it
just make luminescence a physical effect imo, and tbh wet and shocked might as well also be physical if they aren't already

Re: Make Luminescence a cross tier effect
It already is a physical effect - that is the problem: sun infusions inflict it in parallel with blindness, which is also physical, so if you then pop a wild it has a 50% chance to remove luminescence (which most people don't care about) instead of blindness (which is the one they want to get rid off, almost always).
Making luminescence a cross-tier effect would mean:
Making luminescence a cross-tier effect would mean:
- it doesn't get picked by wild infusions unless it's the only effect (of it's type?)
- if another effect (of it's type?) is cleared via wild or similar, it gets removed along with it for free
