there's a ring in tome that increases chance of life leeching and amount of life leeched..
anybody know exactly on WHAT skills does that work?
THeres like a million things that have some kind of life sucking from necromancer: vampiric gift to reaver, etc..., even a dagger that procs it

Re: ring of life leeching
I think it stacks with the necromancer skill and otherwise has just the given chance of damage on every single damage event.
That is, if you have Vampiric Gift up and it gives you a 50% chance of 30% leech, Bloodcaller get you to 80% chance of a 45% leech; if you use Blood Grasp or Ruin or something to do lifedrain damage you get the guaranteed 50% lifegain and then also a 30% chance of an additional 15% lifedrain (or whatever) in addition to that.
I may be wrong, though.

<Ferret> The Spellblaze was like a nuclear disaster apparently: ammo became the "real" currency.

It works with anything that does damage.

Re: ring of life leeching
As near as I can tell, yeah, it stacks with vampiric gift. Rolled up a melee adventurer with the specific goal of stacking bloodcaller and gift and... yeah. Checking the log, with the ring (30%) and gifts going (Currently 17%), I'm getting just under 50% leech, and presumably around 60% proc chance (45% from gift, 15% from the ring), given that my every bump spews out a writhing orgy of healing numbers. Critter's level 18 and I've seen >100 HP heals fly out from a normal bumpphantomglider wrote:I may be wrong, though.

It's kinda' ridiculous and I can only imagine actual necromancers love the blazes out of it, cost or not. You'd be looking at a likely close-to-full heal every other spell you spit out, I'd imagine.
And yeah, it rolls the chance to leech for every individual damage source you do. Each individual number that pops up in the combat log (besides the summary, of course

Now, stuff like skullcleaver or rend's lifedrain is just a damage type, it doesn't bother with fiddly percentile stuff like bloodcaller or vampiric gift does. You can actually proc the bloodcaller leech off the lifedrain damage, for what it's worth.
Re: ring of life leeching
what about lifedrain dagger (chance of bloodgrasp lvl2) , would it also help? or the chance for bloodgrasp to pop is fixed by the dagger but if the bloodgrasp hits then the heal is bigger?
Re: ring of life leeching
Life leech chance will only apply to the general life leech effect, not to the chance of other things triggering.

Re: ring of life leeching
I'd rather wear a ring that gives +mana and helps pay for the sustain, or one that lets me do 20-30% more damage, than stack more lifeleech.Frumple wrote: It's kinda' ridiculous and I can only imagine actual necromancers love the blazes out of it, cost or not.
