red crystals
shouldn't be a top 10 killer for a tier 1 enemy. they are pretty nasty, excessive range, instant hit, long burn for high damage, low cool downs on their talents. pretty much everything about them should be toned down slightly!
Re: red crystals
I think blight crystals are more dangerous. Soul rot deals lots of damage instantly and has a good chance of critting for more damage.
If you are having problems, best solution is to deal with the area later.

Re: red crystals
I don't think he has issues with red crystals killing him. The fact that it is a top ten killer is what's troubling. 9/10 of those deaths are going to be newbies.eliotn wrote:I think blight crystals are more dangerous. Scintillating caves are not a good area for a level 1 character. The fact that we have to suggest new players to leave the caves and come back later (and it is often suggested in the chat) means there's something wrong.
Either lock Shalore as a race or nerf the crystals.

Re: red crystals
Said it before, will say it again. The original intent of those crystals was for all of them to have projectiles about the same speed as the whites. Het didn't do that to avoid adding more talents to the game, but at this point I see little reason to avoid that.
So. That'd be my recommendation. Bring 'em all in line, projectile speed wise, with the whites. Problem solved, s'far as I'm concerned.

Re: red crystals
Could also just have 'em start in the Rhaloren Camp. Kind of makes more sense thematically; could even add to the intro lore and say you're on a mission from Elvala or something like that. Or, start in Elvala and be given the mission by someone.
Re: red crystals
Rhaloren Camp is probably even more deadly with the tempests. Shalore are screwed all around.
