[RC1] Computer Restarts on Game Save

Moving from the last beta to the RC, my computer now locks up and restarts whenever the game tries to save itself. I'm running Windows XP SP3.

Does the new Release Candidate change the way saves are written or stored?

Argh! I don't know what could be doing it, the old beta did and still does work fine.

Hummm .. if you ahve some time get onto #tome on irc.rizon.net; so we chan check this.
Also please post the te4_log.txt file after your computer restarted (and before firing tome again)

I have the same issue running Windows Vista 64bit.
Either when I leave the first zone (e.g. with a dwarf when you enter the dwarven city) or when I use Save and Exit at the moment when you usually would get the save game bar, instead a bluescreen is triggered.
It worked fine in Beta 43.

I triggered the BSOD now by simply starting a new game and then selecting Save & Exit.

With some help from IRC:
The BSOD has code 124 and Windows blames it on HAL.dll. So probably some hardware driver issue that is triggered by some change between beta 43 and RC1.

EDIT: I tried updating my graphics driver and using USB-headphones to see if changing that part of hardware does something but no change, still BSOD on every saving.

RC1 executable with old SDL. Extract over your existing RC1 installation. Please try this executable out and let us know if you still get blue screens.

I copied the zip contents over the install folder, but I still get blue screens.

Same problem, unfortunately. I'll attach the new log in case it has any new information. I really appreciate the help. :)
