Artifact & Ego ideas

Re: Artifact & Ego ideas
Or that. Though assuming Bill's wielding it (Is he? I'm not sure how the mechanics work), may make him a little too nasty. I meant an activatable like projection is. Then you could use it when it's useful & not when it's not.
Re: Artifact & Ego ideas
Bill's trunk is only boring from a "weird stuff happens" perspective. The huge damage and extra % damage from strength make it the best early game weapon for Berserkers and two-hand wielding Cursed. I haven't played much Arcane Blade, but I bet it's great early gear for them, too.

Re: Artifact & Ego ideas
My AB and Cursed both used it for quite a while, so I can attest to that. (The Cursed even was, ostensibly, a dual-wielder with Surge-but the Defense boost didn't matter as much as the extra damage until I'd capped out Surge, which is quite a while.) I think my Berserker got some weirdly awesome luck in Maze and picked up a better weapon very fast due to that, but yeah.
Re: Artifact & Ego ideas
+32 damage with each weapon. Is this intended?

Re: Artifact & Ego ideas
A mindstar artifact, because we can't ever have too many. I don't think we have a mindstar with this theme, and middle tier seemed to fit. It's weaker in pure casting stats than both Psionic Fury and Great Caller, but it makes up for it with a very good ability and a boost to categories that fit the theme.
Code: Select all

Yeek-fur robe (sleek fur robe)
A beautifully soft robe of fine white fur. It looks designed for a halfling noble, with glorious sapphires sewn across the hems. But entrancing as it is you can't help but feel a little queasy wearing it.
+mindpower
+mind resistance
+cold resistance
+defence
Extra powers for halflings?
Can't be worn by yeeks.
Low level but rare.

Cool idea! Also, make all yeeks you meet instantly hostile to the wearer.Grey wrote:Yeek-fur robe (sleek fur robe)

New ego: Lunar
prefix
greater ego
gives negative energy on crit
increases max negative energy
...because anorithils don't have one. Also, I can't think of any synonyms for lunar.

'Of the wind' ego is simply not worth it. Yes, the ability is good, but not amazing enough that you would wear -life item because of it. At least I wouldn't.

Re: Artifact & Ego ideas
I like playing Marauders a lot!
I hate having to restart my Marauder or feel obligated to scum at Maze because of Skullcracker!
Here's some ideas:
Greater Ego:
of Skullcracker
+str
+dex
x2-x3 Skullcracker damage
(Maybe put the Skullcracker ability on it as a clicky?)
(i tried to do this /w an addon but adding the skullcracker mod from garkul to the egos crashes my client. x_x)
[Grushnak Stockpot] (Dented Iron Pot)
This cast-iron pot has seen better days. It is covered in small dents and caked in dried blood, and appears to have been fashioned into a helmet some time ago. It fits poorly as a helmet, but as a pot it's still a great conductor of heat!
Tier 1 metal helmet
+extra armor
+str / +con
+physical and mental saves
+10% cold resistance
x3 skullcracker damage
+10% cold resistance
-5% fire resistance (conductive)
-5% lightning resistance (conductive)
-10% blind immunity (poor fit)
Some earlier options to Garkul or more reliable methods to get skullcracker damage would make Marauder a lot more fun to play!

Re: Artifact & Ego ideas
Screwed around today with making an addon, it's not finished yet and i don't know if it ever will be (since it conflicts with things and I don't know how to get around that) (edit: goblinz is helping me with this so maybe~)
So here's the artefact helm and a boss to drop it. I couldn't figure out how to make the boss have a chance to just spawn in newbie areas, so I added him to the Bears group and created a custom NPC subtype for him. Iron Chef Garmiel, Bear Enthusiast.

Re: Artifact & Ego ideas
Change the effect on Malslek the Accursed's Hat from Agony on hit (spell) to Agony on hit (mind) to better fit with Doomed.
Re: Artifact & Ego ideas
The idea was to make it useful both for mages and for mindpower classes. Mages tend to generate a decent amount of Mindpower incidentally, due to building up Cunning, Willpower, or in some cases both.
Having said that, nothing wrong with it having both on-hit spell and on-hit mind Agony. Or maybe Hateful Whisper for the on-hit mind effect.

Re: Artifact & Ego ideas
I've messed around a bit with adventuring class, and it made me think of this sort of niche but interesting artifact/ego idea.
Basically items that qualify for multiple item types. Shields that also count as off-hand weapons for duel wielding, weapons that also qualify for mindstars, two-handed weapons that are also bows, that kind of thing.
It'd probably be better as an add-on rather then a full addition to the game seeing as it won't be useful outside of adventurers doing weird gimmicks and a small amount of classes that have multiple skill trees that can't be used together normally, I just like the idea of eventually gaining a pair of level five artifacts that let me use All The Talents. Also not sure if it's possible to make something like this, I don't fully know how the games engine works.

Re: Artifact & Ego ideas
I just poked around a bit, and it looks like a shield/offhand would be quite easy to make, whereas a mindstar/sword or a sword/bow would require more work.Useless wrote:Basically items that qualify for multiple item types.
