Combat veteran. Some spelleffects?

#1 Post by Tom »

The tree combat veteran has a branch that allows you to resist some spell effects according to the description.

What spell effects are we talking about?
All spells? Some spells? Depends?

I think spell save applies to any "spell"-type status effect. Some, especially some of the crazier Chronomancy talents, might not be true "spell" effects for gameplay and balance reasons.
Sorry about all the parentheses (sometimes I like to clarify things).

It increases spell save which increases your chance to shrug off 'magical' timed effects and lowers the duration of 'magical' effects.

Hexes, Curses, Diseases, Time Prison, to name a few specifics.

If it can be removed with a magic wild infusion then that talent helps with it.

Thx.

The question is, is it worth to open up that tree?
Hmm. Im at lvl 39 now and there are some other trees (or extra infusion) that are pretty inviting too.

Arggh! I hate theese decisions.

Not likely. IIRC it gives only 25 spell save at lvl5, and at your level most enemies would punch right through it with spellpower more than 40

I'd definitely pick up an extra inscription slot over that tree, especially when you consider that you could grab a wild infusion to clear spell effects.
