If you don't know what the trap is, how can you or why should you be able to ID it?Crim, The Red Thunder wrote:MAylith, i wasnt talking about DETECTING traps, i was talking about being able to ID an unknown trap that you can plainly see on your screen.

I think it's perfectly valid to be able to see an un-ID'd trap. You might walk up on a suspicious pile of dungeon trash, ropes, canisters, or what-have-you, *know* it's a trap, but still not know exactly what it does.A less experienced character (or a nastier trap) might not be visible at all.
Then play carefully in ironman vaults.i guess thats what comes from playing carelessly in an ironman vault.
(I don't play in them at all!)
(I don't play in them at all!)Well, I don't know what screen set you are using, but I play in ASCII and all but the invisible traps show up as '^'s of assorted colors. I know some of the colors, but mostly I just look out for the light green ones. And What the heck do you people mean by trap colors!! They are all either a black/grey pit or some sort of egg with a blue halo on it. Unless my systems screwed up the colors.
