How many cultures' religions should be used in Norseband?

Norse deities only--even the Church distracts from the main theme and plotline.

Norse deities plus the Church (as a single religion, no saintly/angelic patrons).

One or more foreign religions in addition to the other two options. (If you have preferences or explanations, please post them below.)

Skip the religion system altogether--it might offend players in real life, or could become too complicated.

I'm undecided, don't intend to try Norseband, or would always play atheist characters.

[Norseband] How detailed should religions be? (part 1 of 2)

I have two questions about the religion system in Norseband, and would like player opinions/suggestions before the system actually gets designed. A poll for question #1 is attached to this thread.

Splitting the church in a few parts is reasonable. At that time, the Irish/Celtic churches were not in that good terms with Rome. Patron Saints would be a very good way of doing that.

I think it might be nice to have a religion for those who worship the spirits of the earth and so on. No real gods but still something they believe are higher powers.
