Locked in an eternal battle with Ukruk the Fierce

I killed the Master with the following character:
https://te4.org/characters/267576/tome/ ... 239dced622

Ukruk ambushed me and I cannot kill him, no matter what I try. I cannot get him below 50 health, he always regenerates. I even ruined some of my rune slots in an attempt to find a better strategy.

In my desperation, I tried to be passive and get killed... But I regenerate too fast.

I cannot escape the event with the rod.

A similar thing happened with Borfast the Broken, but at least I could just leave him there.

This seems a bit unfair. I was trying for hours. The only option I see left is to maybe take all my equipment off and let Ukruk defeat me, but that is kind of lame, honestly.

Any suggestions? Is this supposed to happen in certain circumstances?

You don't have any damage penetration, so that might be the issue? try putting on the elemental fury ring you have, and see if that will let you beat him.

No, that sadly didn't change anything, thank You for the suggestion though.

The point is, this shouldn't happen, right? I guess my run is just bugged at this point and while that really demotivates me is beside the point.

There could be some sort of mechanism to prevent this, like a kind of "exhaustion" added to NPCs that can heal (or at least the scripted ones), making them gain permanent and incremental debuffs in all healing effects. There is no point to an endless battle, even more so if it is inescapable (in other cases the enemies can be at least escaped from and revisited later). I would, as a player, prefer that such an exhaustion effect isn't applied to my character and feel powerful, but I am but a noob who doesn't really get the game in depth yet so there might be a better solution to this issue.

Hi!

- I guess - this fight with Ukruk the Fierce was designed to be an "unbeatable" fight,
so by design, you should lose here and die.

If you die here, you do not really die, your character will "wake up from a dream" and continue
the adventure with no death from this event. So do not worry, just die. :)

Of course, with some preparations for the fight (e.g. nice damage penetration, armour penetration if you using weapons),
Ukruk is pretty beatable.

The dude has Vitality talent, so any time it will drop below 50% of his max life, it will gain a 8 turn long Regeneration effect.
In order to weaken this, you can have weapons that apply effects (Deep Wound, Epidemic) to reduce enemies' Healing Factor.
You can also have the Curse of Death on items, that prevent enemies to regenerate.

Did you try unequipping everything and disabling all sustains?
Your Ring of Growth in particular is going to amplify your Vitality strength.

If you haven't given up, you might try..

Stone Gauntlets of HZ, give you some dmg penetration. Put these on.
Replace Ring of Growth w/ the Misery Ring. Use its 'Bleeding edge' when it comes up.
A Wild(Magical) isn't really great, and its easy to get another. Replace it w/ biting gale.
Your regen will be a lot less, but you need the offence.
Hold back Ungole, Rune and Bleeding Edge back once he's under 10%,
then hit w/ all at the same time.
Two spiders at the right time can turn a fight.

Thanks, I tried it, but his Regeneration is unbeatable with my character, it seems.

I did this and finally lost. I did not want to do it because it seems unfair and breaks the immersion, but better than not being able to continue.

I posted this in the "Bugs" sub because I don't think it makes sense to unequip everything just in order to lose. It's actually ridiculous, but I might be in the minority with this sentiment here. The way I see it, a situation like this one should simply not occur. Either the player then loses in a scripted way ("the orc strikes you in the head and you lose consciousness" or whatever) or there should be a mechanism to wear out the opponent, as I mentioned earlier. Or any other, more clever way of dealing with this issue.

In any case, thank You to all who gave input, I truly appreciate it. There's still a lot for me to learn about this game.
