DLC and ToME installed from a package

I donated enough to get all the DLC, downloaded it, and copied it to the correct directory. When I started ToME, the splash screens showed that it saw the *.teaac files, but I got a lua error when trying to start a new game. I'm running the game on OpenBSD 6.3, version 1.5.5 of the game. Does one have to do anything special with the DLC files to make them work (permissions change or put them into a directory under ~/.t-engine) when using them with packaged versions of the game? I can upload the error message if nobody's encountered this before (I figured I was missing something simple). Thanks in advance for any help.

Seeing the error message would help narrow down what exactly went wrong.

Code: Select all
Lua Error: /hooks/cults/load.lua:35: attempt to call method 'loadHooksFile' (a nil value)
At [C]:-1 loadHooksFile
At /engine/Module.lua:679 loadAddons
At /engine/Module.lua:992 instanciate
At /engine/utils.lua:2243 showMainMenu
At /engine/init.lua:172
At [C]:-1 dofile
At /loader/init.lua:217
I also submitted the message by the in-game system, in case this is a real bug. Thanks.

I think updating the main game should help, because afaik Forbidden Cults needs at least 1.5.6 to work

OK; thanks. Any other sites to download the source? I rarely get above 50KBps from te4.org.

You can download it through Steam, but since you only need a patch it should still be quicker using the launcher to patch it.

Not quite sure I can do that with OpenBSD. I'll just use wget to get the source over a few sessions or else wait till the OS's next release. The main game will keep me busy enough for a while.
Thanks to everyone who responded.

I am FreeBSD user and there my way:
Buy game+DLC's in steam
Make account in te4.org and link your steam account
Now you able to download dlcs directly from site or from steam.
But not sure if lastest game version in OpenBSD ports, for FreeBSD it's always fresh
