Clean boot module

Is there a clean boot module without all these bells and whistles. The current one just gives me a big white frozen window and some music. Even if I do fix it the freezing though, I'd rather have a clean boot module so I can load it up faster.

Does it says anything in the log ?
You do not get any UI ?

PS: you can fast boot a module to playtest like this:
* normal load: t-engine -Mcrime
* new character: t-engine -Mcrime -n
* new character named whatever: t-engine -Mcrime -n -uwhatever

EDIT- I came back from the bathroom after 5 minutes and it looked like it eventually started up. Greater than 3+ minutes to load up just the boot module is totally unacceptable. Something still must be wrong.

Hey Lap,

There are some problems right now with T-Engine hanging when checking for the news on DG's server, and it looks like that is where you are currently hanging. I think DG already made that call asynchronous in the SVN, but if not it should be. How is Crimelike coming?
