to be fair looking at the wikipedia deletion remarks it seems to indicate the tome page was given a warning for a long while that it needed to be improved or deleted, so maybe the shoddy references would've been good enough if they'd just been expanded a bit?

might be nice not only to include a section on tome2 for tales of maj'eyal's wikiepedia page? and maybe even get t.o.m.e. to redirect to the tales page?

all that said deletion is no longer an issue as steam is going to count as a valid legit reference

edit: whoops I forgot I made this post and double posted with a similar post right below it. for completeness sake here is that second post:

I'm 99% sure that once the game is on steam and we can link to steam they'll stop complaining about a lack of references. These admins imo aren't jerks they're just BUSY they don't have time to care about your page or research it or improve it, they just have time to check to make sure it meets bare minimum quality guidelines for proper inclusion into an encyclopedia.

That said this http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dungeon_Crawl_Stone_Soup has mostly primary or awful references so maybe the admins are just upset about the overall writing on the page and how there is some subjective stuff? one of the rejections mentioned that.

We also might just need to resubmit more times? who knows maybe DCSS Was denied a dozen times too?

So we are now on steam, can add that as a reference, also:
http://store.steampowered.com/app/259680
http://www.usgamer.net/articles/infinit ... -pc-review
http://www.gamingonlinux.com/articles/t ... linux.2828

I'd rather not be the one editing the article for fear of being a nasty biased developer or whatever ;)

I've added the Steam and US Gamer references, updated the article page for the 1.1.3 release, and pressed the Re-submit button.

"Review waiting.

This may take over 3 weeks. The Articles for creation process is very highly backlogged. Please be patient. There are 1865 submissions waiting for review."

Someone thought it would be easier to ask forgiveness than ask permission, and just created a page. I copied over the info.

It looks like it is indeed the "right" way with wikipedia since the requets for creation was now rejected with the message:
Thank you for your submission, but the subject of this article already exists in Wikipedia. You can find it and improve it at Tales of Maj'Eyal instead.
:)
