Permanent water breathing

I found a randart ring with water breathing. I put it on to get to the Sher'Tul fortress, and then I took it off.

Later, when I was in the watery part of the traitor's tower, I did not get an Air xx/100 indicator. It seems the ring gave me permanent water breathing -- removing the ring "forgot" to remove the flag.
