[Beta 18] Enemy red border problem...

#1 Post by onyhow »

I'm in the Lost Merchant tunnel, and for some reason, an assassin has its red border displaying 1 1/2 grid down from its actual location...turning off the grid and on again doesn't help...then it's back to normal after the enemy walks...
Why can't TOME 4 has a secret room where you can represent game bugs as, well, enemies you can crush like in Divine Divinity? That would be cool...

Yeah, I've noticed the same with thieves (and probably anything else that can hide/turn invisible). It's actually quite unfortunate, because sometimes an empty enemy indicator box means that the box is being wonky, and other times it means that there's a partially hidden thief there :(.

Yeah, but that's not it...now it happens to my Chant animation, appearing around .78 grid SE of my char...seems like the new smooth movement animation screws this up somehow...

I had only seen this with stealthed characters, so I thought it was intentional as "I know it's around here SOMEWHERE...."

Well, the issue is that I can clearly TARGET a square that's right next to me (for instance), even though the red indicator box is a few grid steps away from that - and the box isn't indicating a separate hidden enemy, as far as I can tell (no damage numbers pop up if I hit it with a line spell, for instance). I'll also note that this is different than the behavior I'd seen in beta 16.

I have seen this as well. It started in 17, and it continues in 18. Red tactical borders around partially-hidden enemies appear randomly offset from where they are supposed to be.

it also happens the turn after you recover from being blind, all borders, enemy and player alike are skewed a few positions. was that part of the fix DG?
