Zone suggestions and bugs

#1 Post by Susramanian »

Some problems and suggestions for various zones:

-New rooms in Kor'Pul ('cells2' for example) are often disconnected. When they are connected, frequently corridors intersect the rooms at their corners, which looks bad.

-The 'plantlife' vault doesn't seem to be getting generated as intended. It appears empty except for an item in the middle.

-Dungeons like Reknor and the Ancient Elven Ruins need some serious spicing up. Reknor is supposed to be a dwarven city, but it's just a bunch of intersecting tunnels. I'd love to see some massive rooms and vaults and even some features suggestive of a city.

-Other dungeons could use some differentiation, too. Some mountains and hills intruding into the Trollshaws would break up the uniform static of trees, for example. Clearings, rivers, and ruins would also look nice. The Old Forest and Eruan could use similar treatment.

-Orc Prides, while difficult enough to be called endgame content, aren't interesting enough yet. I'd like to feel as though I'm invading an orcish stronghold, not sneaking through a uniform collection of huts.

-Reknor needs its maximum level increased. With the new content in the west, it's very possible to visit Reknor at level 30+. It feels like a joke after Tol Falas and the Melinda dungeon.

-The Infinite Dungeon needs some features. I understand that part of the appeal is a sort of 'pure' test of player skill and character build, with none of the potentially cheesy abuses introduced by things like escort quest rewards in the primary campaign. Surely there are ways to introduce some more variety without losing that appeal. How about escort quests that involve escorting a fellow madman adventurer to the stairs down instead of to a recall portal? As a reward, he gives you a choice of random ego items instead of stat points or talents. How about meeting occasional fellow adventurers who are willing to barter for items? Anything to give the player stuff to look forward to. We all know what's waiting in the end.
