I'm not sure if speed is better lower or higher. Also not sure if the speed listed under all my various attack stats affects my movement speed or speed of abilities. If anybody knows the answer to these to questions I would be quite grateful.
Here is what I do know though. I found a mighty elven-wood longbow of great speed (woot I think). I have 2 points in rapid shot. When I equip the bow, my speed goes down from .80. Then when I tur o rapid shot, my speed goes up to .81. This does not seem ideal. Should I post this in bugs?
Rapid shot and bow of speed

Re: Rapid shot and bow of speed
Yeah, I'd post it though I'm not sure it can really be changed (it sounds like a stacking issue, as in they don't stack and it's taking the last value used).
As to your question this is my understanding of how it all works...
Speed in the Tome module breaks down into basically two categories energy and energy cost.
One is the base point for both Energy and Energy Cost. You want higher energy, lower energy cost.
Global Speed falls into Energy. I believe this is how much energy the character generates each tick. Higher the better. (Slow makes you get less energy each turn and Blazing Speed makes you get more).
Weapon Speed, Movement Speed, Casting Speed, and anything like it falls into energy cost. This is how much energy it takes to do actions. The lower the better here.
I think that's pretty much it.
*and please someone correct me if I'm wrong on the above because I'm not 100% sure*

Re: Rapid shot and bow of speed
It's a bug, I've encountered something with Rapid Shot as well but Dg seems to be able to replicate it... the various weapon speed modifiers aren't working well together for some reason... there's a thread somewhere about it.
With a Bow of great speed and Rapid Shot up you'd be expecting 0.6x or something.

Re: Rapid shot and bow of speed
So I decided for now, just to swallow a wasted point in rapid shot and not use it at all. But I still have a question. Does bow of great speed only affect shoot? Or does it affect the speed of all my talents that involve bows?
Also, the base speed of a bow seems to be .80, which is faster than normal right? If that is the case, why is it that sometimes an enemy gets to go twice when I shoot once. Like in paths of the dead, I died from shooting a skeleton warrior that was one square away from me. He moved, and stunning blow (and you know how the rest of that goes), all in the space of one of my shots.
Thanks everyone for being so helpful on my new archer kick!
