Riding sandworms

#1 Post by Grey »

Would be nice if you could find some sandworm hooks on the first level of the Sandworm's Lair. They'd be a tool you could equip and use on an adjacent sandworm tunneler. With a successful dexterity check you would then mount the worm and ride on its back (an unsuccesful check would result in getting crushed for physical damage). Whilst riding on the worm other monsters would be unable to attack you, but you must pass continual dexterity checks or fall off and be dazed.

This would make the lair a bit easier for characters with decent dexterity (ie non-mages), whilst also being a bit of fun :)

note that sandworms do occasionally walk into collapsing tunnels.

... 'using' the Sandworm Riders' Kit has a cooldown of just 2 turns - because if there's a sandworm tunneler adjacent, you get to select and ride it - else the kit activates a thumper (with sound effect, of course :)) calling STs from a radius which increases with willpower.

Note that the "thumper" as described would make the sandworm tunnels a lot more trivial all by itself.

Another function of the Thumper is that it genocides all Uruivellas (or something spelt like that), everywhere. I can imagine spending quite a while on Sandhole 1 :)
