Odd behavior on Trapped! quest

#1 Post by Sirrocco »

As a result of scumming for slime mold potions on some characters, I've lately enter the Trapped! quest relatively early a few times. (level 4 or 5, with poor gear). I generally walk around, trying to hit all of the floor tiles I can prior to talking, in the hopes of finding and killing any alarm-driven rogues before they can threaten the Merchant (and possibly leveling prior to the big fight). Lately, this has resulted in a few times where I got a message as if I'd talked to one of the lesser rogues (that "talk to the boss" one) and then all of the rogues started walking towards me, still neutral. When they got to me, rather than attacking, they'd start up their conversations, every round, and continually gather around, constantly harassing me with the claim that I needed to talk with the boss. I suspect that this behavior is a bug.

Also, the first time you bump into the merchant, he gets cuffed. Subsequent to that, however, you can shift him around by swapping as you like. I suspect this is a bug as well - it's a bit counter intuitive, and abusing it makes it a lot easier to keep the guy alive.

On a side note, the quest has been 'successful' for me even when the merchant died (I even killed him myself once - pure coincidence, he was in the wrong place when I started the death dance...).
