When I try to sell weapons or armor in Bree, on the right-hand side of the equipment display I see "prices" listed (next to the items I own). If I ask to sell one of these items, though, I'll only get about 1/5 of that in gold, and the item will then be on sale in the store for the same price that it was earlier listed as having when I owned it. (I guess if it had hidden buffs it'd be higher.) This is confusing, shouldn't the items be listed with the amount the store will offer for it?
When I attempt to sell, e.g., a longsword, I'll get a confirm box which says "Sell 1 longsword?". Since I'm only selling a single longsword, I thought the 1 referred to the quantity I'm selling. But then in fact I'll only get 1 gold for it. (Which seems very low, but okay.) If the "1" in the confirm box was really the price being offered for the sword, then this should be phrased more clearly. If on the other hand, the 1 is the quantity, as I originally thought, then as far as I can tell you're never shown the price the store will offer for an item until you actually complete the sale.
This is in ToME 4 b12.
Selling prices?

Re: Selling prices?
Selling price should be on the right hand side of shop the screen, IIRC.
Re: Selling prices?
I believe stores will always buy items for 1/10 of the sale price. Currently, the sale price is displayed in the right-hand column of both panes. So you sold one long sword, that would have cost 10 gold to buy, and got 1 gold for it.
(if you've found something worth more than 999 gold, then the price displayed won't be accurate, but there aren't many objects like that..)

Re: Selling prices?
Not in b12 - the right-hand side now shows what would be the purchase price if it were on sale.Gwai wrote:Selling price should be on the right hand side of shop the screen, IIRC.
