Quit option
I often create chars just to try things out, or simply get bored of a new guy after a couple of levels or some bad luck. Currently the only way to quit is to suicide against a monster, or to save&close then come back in and delete. Both are a nuisance. Any chance of a quit option in the game menu? It should come up with a yes/no prompt along the lines of "Are you sure you want to quit? Your character will be lost forever."
Re: Quit option
Or you could simply save&exit and then create a new character with the same name?
Re: Quit option
Ehm, what's exactly wrong with saving and going back to the menu, then deleting the character from there

Re: Quit option
Takes friggin' ages? Very inconvenient to do in my opinion. Every game has a quit option - why not ToME?
Re: Quit option
I usually do it this way: Right click on taskbar -> Start Task Manager -> right click on t-engine.exe -> End Process
Oh well, guess a (k)ill player option in the Esc Menu wouldn't hurt

Re: Quit option
That doesn't kill the character. Indeed, as far as I know that's the way to savescum.

I think "kill player" option would hurt. On the other hand, "kill character" is a good idea.Feanor.81 wrote: Oh well, guess a (k)ill player option in the Esc Menu wouldn't hurt

Re: Quit option
A way to hard quit in tome that doesn't involve the task manager would be tremendously helpful for when the game locks up. Preferably that little X in the upper right corner for us windows users. Alt-f4 or something would be good, too.
More on the OP, a suicide option would be nice, yeah. On the flip side, I'd call it a pretty low key thing -- it's fairly easy to just kamikaze yourself on a worm swarm or something. Little bit more time involved, but less than going through the quit-delete process. Still, less keypresses = better, 90% of the time. Cutting out that extra time involved would be a good thing.
