Ask if wanting to enter traps

#1 Post by Mithril »

Currently there there is nothing stopping you from walking or running into traps. Very easy to do by mistake. Even if you have the Trap Detection Talent it is easy to to detect a trap and still continue into it by mistake if you are walking quickly in an area without monsters. As such I propose that the game should ask if you really want to enter a trap.

I prefer the 'play more carefully' option ;) Honestly, traps are not the only thing that will get you hurt if you don't pay attention and move too quickly. This is part of roguelike gameplay. I think a constant trap-nagging prompt would be more annoying than helpful.

Especially if moving over a large area, but no so large that you bother running, where you can see no monster it gets frustrating to move - pause - move - pause etc.

How about an option for those who want it? Alternatively, who about differentiating between running and walking which fits? If walking you get a warning. If running you do not get one (obviously running should stop if one finds a new trap).
