Vor Armory

#1 Post by Fela »

Is the second level _supposed_ to be the hardest dungeon out there?
I mean srsly, opening the door to the main forechamber is barely survivable, but the boss chamber is a deathtrap.
I did not open the lava chamber at all, but - 8 GMHW?

Also is it _intended_ that due to the vault status leaving and returning to the level will make the above a moot point since all that bother is unnecessary?

Well people told me "we want harder stuff!" :)

But yes I might tone it down, and no leaving to make it go away is a bug :)
Fixed!

At least there are really cool graphics exploding around you as your character dies though!

As an optional side quest I would be careful about how far you tone it down. There's no necessary reason to return to the west before facing almost certain death on top of the high peak.....

This happens at the bottom of Moria too -- if you leave, wait, and come back, then the boss will still be there, but his goons will be replaced by random monsters (and fewer).

Aside from the fact that the west features the only jewelery shop in the universe?

Are we talking about special or regular jewelery?

There is a good reason for heading back west and so you can create the link if you want to....it's not "necessary" though. :)

Once DG made me realize that stun immunity protects from freeze, the main chamber wasn't that bad at all on yesterday's try.

The 8 leveled GMHW are still impossible in a vault (limited PD) though. Each of them had more than 3k life.

Funny thing: after resetting the level the RNG generated 2 everfilling mana pots (i thought those were supposed to be unique?) and the black armour for me :)

I have only tried this once, but with that particular build even the GMHW fell without too much danger. If you want a character that can slice through pretty much everything (except for the final battle, that one killed my self-confidence) make an archmage that uses invisibility a lot. Even GMHWs cannot hit what they cannot see...
<DarkGod> lets say it's intended

Well, the thing is: I don't think it makes too much sense to balance for invisible arch mages. I usually tend to point out things i find problematic even if my SB managed them, if i had to rely heavily on conveyance (especially when it's the pursuit stopping effect) to pull it off.
