I like Neurotoxic Trap, but it feels... a bit anachronistic and out of place here :) Nightshade Trap would require some botanic knowledge to be understood at first glance, but could fit well.

Artificial Mist sounds good!

If rogues were capable of creating traps out of nothing McGuyver's style, then at least the talent should have a chance failure like Ammo Creation, but this would make the whole skill too unreliable and so quite a wast of TPs. Maybe a mid long cooldown (like 40 per trap) could balance its intrinsic power without requiring materials? But this would make it an hassle to place a fair sequence of traps to prepare some fireworks for a group of enemies then lure them in... I was thinking to materials to make it so that if you are well prepared, you can bring the hell upon your foes.
Maybe an innate talent to extract trap components from items, similar to Extract Gems, could do some good? Maybe I'm just over-thinking :?

Yeah I was pondering having items too but there is one T2 mistake I really want to avoid: too many specific items that are junk for most classes.
[tome] joylove: You can't just release an expansion like one would release a Kraken XD

How about just decomposing mundane objects, much like it works with alchemist gems?

Cure poison / disease potions would give you components for Stunning / Nightshade Trap (poison vials), Mana pots for Explosive Trap (explosive vials), metal weapons and armors for Bear Trap, Catapult Trap and Disarming Trap (metal parts, could be further differentiated based on weapon / armor type in a more specific component per trap).

You could make it stun you for a few turns (like meditation). So it's not too practical to set a trap on the run, but you can prepare in advance.

Uhm, I was picturing situations like while you're wandering a zone under stealth, you suddenly spot a vicious enemy... You carefully place a deadly trap in silence, then circle around your enemy and finally place a lure to convoy him right into the trap...

Stun effect would make such stealth tactics impossible.

Does being stunned unstealth you? What about daze?

I think neither of them breaks stealth, but it would be a too risky maneuver, since if the enemy manages to spot you while stunned / dazed you would be left at his mercy.
The matter really is if the game mechanics should allow to place traps in plain sight of enemies (well, under stealth as well). If not, stun would be just fine; but this would greatly reduce the tactical usage of traps (the whole tree would require a tight coupling with Track talent to be effective).
