Doomed class ideas

I'm looking for some talent ideas for a new class called "Doomed". It is essentially a ranged counterpart to the Cursed class. Here is a preliminary description:

The Doomed are fallen mages who once wielded powerful magic wrought by ambition and dark bargains. They now possess only a twisted shadow of that power as they struggle to keep it from consuming them. Only time will tell if they can choose a new path or are dooomed forever. The Doomed release powerful forces, darkness and yada yada to defeat their enemies.

My initial thought is that it should be mage-like but use the same kind of magic that Cursed uses by either willing things to happen or "sharing" some of their dark curse. Like Cursed they are trying to control their magic as much as use it. Their primary stats are probably Willpower and Magic. Their mana pool could be Mana (so they could add mage spells) or Hate (from Cursed; gained as you kill) or I though about using the character itself as a mana pool (-20% speed for 5 turns, -3 life regen for 5 turns, etc.). A combination of these might work as well. For example, when your mana runs low you can switch to your hate-based spells.

In terms play style I thought I would keep it similar to the Cursed class. Cursed is fast-paced, focuses on attack over defense and has a lot of tactical moves to make battles more strategic.

Force Of Will
Will burst: Swirling forces move slowly away from you, blasting your opponents for 100 damage per turn.
Throw: knockback that adds extra damage if your target hits something or someone (who will take damage too)
Blast: Radious knockback from a targeted square. Anyone that is knocked into something takes extra damage.
Implode: Same as blast but all creatures are blasted inward

Impenetrable Darkness
Shroud of Darkness: Radius 5 cloud of darkness that surrounds the player. Anyone caught inside may be blinded and weakened. Player cannot see outside of the shroud while active but cannot be targeted by anyone outside either.
Dark Vision: passively grants infravision
Dark Step: Teleport to any dark square in range. At level 3, the cooldown is instantaneous inside your shroud of darkness.
Dark Storm: Each turn for 20 turns several nearby squares are blasted with darkess for 8 turns. Anyone entering the square takes 100 dark damage and may be blinded.

These are potential talents that use the character as mana. I'm not sure if I like the way this would play, but I like the concept:

Doom: projects "doom" damage that only converts to real damage based on negative resists (-25% fire resist means you take 25% of the doom damage).
Aura of doomed fate: The tragedy of your doom surronds you like an aura. Any foe's weakness is turned against them inflicting up to a total of 200 damage.
Death by fire: You lose 5% fire resistance per turn up to a maximum of -75%. You can transfer this to any foe in your doom for 3 turns.
Death by XYZ: You lose 5% XYZ resistance per turn up to a maximum of -75%. You can transfer this to any foe in your doom for 3 turns.
Hubris: One of your foe's resistances are turned against them becoming negative for 3 turns.

This might be an ok overall approach to other talents. For example:
Willfull Blast: Blast your target for 100 damage. Each blast will slow you by 30% for 5 turns.
Shared Fate: Everyone in your line of sight including yourself are stunned for 3 turns taking 30 damage per turn.
Lose Hope: Your target's next talent will fail. The next time you are hit it will be a critical.

All of the ideas above are just preliminary, so radically different concepts are welcome. I'm interested first and foremost in ideas with interesting mechanics that make playing the class more fun. I think most of the basic mechanics are pretty well covered by the current classes so I like the idea of exploring some new play styles.

Aside from Dark Storm the Impenetrable Darkness tree could be a utility (generic) tree.

Maybe Dark Storm could be replaced with another utility talent and moved to another tree to facilitate this?

Maybe...

Shadow (generic/utility)
Shroud of Shadow
Shadow Sight (allows you to treat dark tiles as lit within so many tiles)
Shadow Step
Shadow Form (body is composed partially of shadows, granting resist all)

Darkness
Dark Bolt (I know, boring but hey, maybe make it blind on crit so it's not as boring)
Devouring Darkness (AoE darkness damage; similar to corrosive vapor; deals extra damage on unlit tiles)
Dark Betrayal (Animates targets shadow, constricts and deals damage each turn)
Dark Storm
