If opponent dies during a flurry, elemental shield damage is still taken for the hits that were never executed.
(i.e. with 6 attacks from flurry, 6 times shield damage is taken, even when monster drops after 2 hits)

What that means is that you are still in a state of fury when you use flurry, so you just hit the corpse, taking the damage.
