Assassin quest
the assassin lord and his minions are automatically hostile if you are an anorithil (because of sunwall faction), making that somewhat easier to do as they do not target the merchant first.

Re: Assassin quest
Also with the assassin quest what's up with the other option where you choose to beg the assassin lord for your life and end up working for him? When I selected that option it just opened the quest and subsequently completed it at the same time and I was free to go. Nothing was added to my quest log either.

Re: Assassin quest
There was another thing I noticed with this quest, albeit a rather minor thing. While the assassins are neutral you can displace them around the map, meaning you can 'shift' them all away into the level's corners so you can fight the assassin lord unhindered (until he summons anyway).
Re: Assassin quest
I managed to kill the assassin lord without triggering any dialog. I had just finised clearing all 3 starting dungeons with a mage when I got the quest. I made it to the second floor and killed the assassin with one shot as soon as I appeared. The guys in the room attacked, but no other enemies were summoned. I killed the rest but the merchant never said anything. He was in town when I checked, and the quest was marked as complete.
