Beta 2 difficulty?

Beta 2 difficulty?
It seems that most people say it's not too hard now ?
So maybe the difficulty level "easy" planned for next beta should not exist, only normal, nightmare and insane ?

[tome] joylove: You can't just release an expansion like one would release a Kraken XD

Re: Beta 2 difficulty?
I can get a bit farther now in beta2, but I can't seem to get past the sandworm lair. I keep making dumb mistakes in there. I'm not sure that I'm getting farther because it's easier so much as I've stopped trying to overlevel things like I did in 2.x.
Maybe I'll try another character in beta1 to compare the difficulty.

If you're going to have difficulty levels at all, then you should definitely include one that's easier than normal. Someone will want to play it that way.
Re: Beta 2 difficulty?
Just from one quick play it seems a bit harder in beta1. I wouldn't mind seeing an easy option either.

yeah, right now it seems like it is easy, but then again, I pump armor up as fast as possible.

Re: Beta 2 difficulty?
Easy would also help some of the harder classes get tried more, I suspect. I wouldn't play an archer in easy, but maybe that would be an interesting way to test the rogue class, for instance.
Re: Beta 2 difficulty?
I'd say the difficulty is very similar, though we all know the game a bit better by the time beta2 rolled by... so it may seem easier.
But I agree with greycat, you might get people (some of the new music authors) who may want to play until they reach their music, and one should not try to make it too challenging... Tome is hard probably even on easy for people who've only played diablo 2 before.

I still say it is easier, having made the monsters and playing them now is like a cakewalk to what they were beforeCanderel wrote:I'd say the difficulty is very similar, though we all know the game a bit better by the time beta2 rolled by... so it may seem easier.

Re: Beta 2 difficulty?
I can't really tell, since I'm still on the steep part of the learning curve... Initially when I switched to Beta 2 I was doing Amon Sul L1, then clearing Trollshaws, then back to Amon Sul, and I found Amon Sul VERY hard when I returned, what with the master archers and mages, and the "cute little bunny"... I've since switched to clearing Amon Sul, then clearing Trollshaws, and I seem to be having an easier time with the first couple of dungeons.

Re: Beta 2 difficulty?
What character I am playing really determines which of the two dungeons I clear out first. If it's a sturdy melee guy it's Tol Sul first. If it's a person of range or flimsiness, then it's Trollshaws first.
The reason for this is simple. Trollshaws is almost entirely melee enemies, so, if you have good range attacks, you go there for the first 5 or so level ups, that way you can deal better with the archers and mages in Tol Sul. I've come to find though, Dwarf Fighters can do either as long as you don't get smacked by a high damage trap or surrounded without Repulsion.
