Level grinding

#1 Post by Jaorin »

How much level grinding is expected to be successful in the game as it stands now? I suppose it would depend a bit on your race/class.

Are there good points at which to focus on this for specific goals? I usually like to be at least 5 or 6 for the first quest bosses.

Edit: I will say that DG has done a wonderful job with the interface and so grinding isn't so bad, as far as grinding in RPGs goes. :)

You should not need to much...

Essentially the process of going down AND back up each dungeon is sufficient to win the game as it stands.

I must be doing something wrong then. I find I spend the majority of my time leveling in order to be able to kill the first two bosses. After that I need to level quite a bit to be able to survive the bosses in places like the sandworm lair.

Edit: I was doing something wrong, I was trying to level before the bosses. I just blew through both of them on a new mage. I guess I'm still getting used to the scaling monsters thing.

hehehe, I am playing a lvl 24 now, soon to be a lvl 25, just having fun :D but yeah levels are harder the higher level you first enter them, so enter early, do later or something can make it easier.
Oliphant am I, and I never lie.

I guess it might be helpful for me to think of this more in terms of Oblivion. Gaining levels can be a bad thing.

Indeed. Another way in which this game (Tome4) reminds me of NetHack. Of course, since I've been playing NetHack for 7 years now, that's a compliment.

Can we get a way to turn that off? That ruined oblivion.

It levels up to a point, the trollshaws will never be level 20 and tol falas will never be level.
It is NOT the same thing as oblivion, this is limited scaling to make sure you can do some areas in whatever order you wish.
It empowered you not the opposite.

PS: I absolutly loathe oblivion it wont do it ;)
[tome] joylove: You can't just release an expansion like one would release a Kraken XD
