Astroempires New server: Ixion

Hello everyone. On Saturday May 22, astroempires will be opening a new server: Ixion.

Our Helion guild, Across is a mix of ToME players and B12ers. We'll be moving to the new server when it opens.

We'd like to invite the rest of you to join in to play with us. We've been a significant force in our galaxy on Helion despite entering the game several months late, and starting fresh on a new server we expect to dominate our galaxy of choice.

About AE:
Astroempires is a browser based space conquest game. No download is neccesary. Membership is free, though there is an optional $27/yr account upgrade which gives some nice perks.

Events like fleet movements, construction and research take real time, similar to skill gain in Eve Online, so unlike traditional MMORPGs, AE won't consume your entire life. Ten minutes a day to queue up construction and research, combined with a few hours at a time when you want to engage in combat.

The pvp dynamic in the game allows for fleets and be destroyed and recycled, but established player bases can only be occupied to siphon economy, and not completely destroyed. Thus, nobody needs to worry about being permanently removed from the game.

Our guild on Ixion: What you need to know

The Ixion server will go live on Saturday March 22. It won't be possible to register until that time. We have not yet decided which galaxy we will start in, but tentatively Galaxy #8 is the most likely. Intergalactic travel is non-trivial, so when you join the new server, it is crucial that we all start in the same galaxy. I will update this post when we've decided for certain which galaxy we'll be starting in.

Guild creation requires a level 20 character, Once Ixion goes live, it will be a few days before we're able to create the guild itself. In the meantime we have a mailling list already up and running. Two guild names have been proposed for our guild on Ixion: "Across" (the same as our Helion guild, and a reference to Excel Saga) and "Red Dwarf" (a reference to the British comedy sitcom of the same name.)

Trying it out
If you'd like to try out AE to see if you like it, you can join the Helion Server now and get a head start on learning the game for when the new server opens. On Helion, we're in Galaxy 36, and our guild page is here if you'd like to join and meet those of us already playing.

Hello everyone.

I'm recruiting for my astroempires guild, ACROSS.

It's a MMO browser game of space conquest. Construction, research and movement all take place in real time, and actions can be queued so you can play in 10-20 minutes a day. The game is free to play, though there is an optional $27/year membership which gives you some useful perks.

Let's see if we can get a big group of ToME players together and conquer the galaxy!

Our guild is now in the top 100 on the server for both economy and fleet size. We have three ToME players and two people I know personally.
