Wiki - Lord Dimwit's Guide truncated
Just noticed that the display of Spoilers/Lord_Dimwit's_Advanced_Strategy_Guide is truncated at section 1.2 in the new wiki.
Viewing it in raw text shows the whole thing.

I have a copy (just in case) I will let Neil know...

Re: Wiki - Lord Dimwit's Guide truncated
Any update on this? Its still truncated in the wiki.
Re: Wiki - Lord Dimwit's Guide truncated
Apparently it's only truncated when viewed in Firefox (3.5.6 and 3.6 at least), since I can see it complete in Chrome 4 and Opera 10.

Re: Wiki - Lord Dimwit's Guide truncated
hmmm... doesnt look truncated to me... maybe do a hard refresh (^F5 or ctrl-F5, whichever is more understandable to you)

Re: Wiki - Lord Dimwit's Guide truncated
Strange, I'm using Firefox, its still truncated hard refresh, clearing cache all make no difference, tried IE too (only other browser I have installed) and no dice. Guess this is just one more reason to try Chrome.
EDIT: Got it to work in Firefox by setting the page style (view menu) to no style, hope this is helpful to anyone else encountering this problem.

Re: Wiki - Lord Dimwit's Guide truncated
The problem is obvious if you look at the page source.
The problem is this series of tags occurring right after the word "funeral": <span class="comment" style="display:none"><span class="anchor" id="line-1673"></span>
I guess what happened is that a </span> tag got deleted, so the rest of the file is treated as a comment.

Re: Wiki - Lord Dimwit's Guide truncated
The problem is the new wiki syntax. Here is the workaround.
The MoinMoin upgrade added a new wiki syntax: /* comments */. Unfortunately, the Lord Dimwit's Guide contained several instances of */ and /* in the text, so the wiki now believes that comments are most of the guide. Our help pages in ToME wiki are too old, but the MasterMoin wiki explains the new /* comment */ syntax at http://master.moinmo.in/HelpOnComments.
We would edit the Lord Dimwit's Guide to remove the /* comment */ syntax, but no one has edited ToME Wiki since 1 January 2010. This is because after the upgrade, the wiki has never allowed anyone to edit pages!
- Go to http://wiki.t-o-m-e.net/Spoilers/Lord_D ... tegy_Guide
- At the top of the page, click 'Comments' once. (This requires JavaScript.)
After you click 'Comments' once, the missing parts of the guide will reappear!

... I created a wiki account earlier today but it says "Immutable Page" on every page of the wiki.
So instead of just fixing the guide, I must tell readers to click 'Comments'.FACM wrote:http://forum.t-o-m-e.net/viewtopic.php?p=81598#p81598
The web page is visible to me. I've seen it for the couple of months I've looked into making a T-Engine module. But every page says 'Immutable page', so I can't post/edit anything to it myself.
Re: Wiki - Lord Dimwit's Guide truncated
Thanks for the workaround!
Do you know if anyone is exploring the option of making the wiki editable again? I know that is a radical idea...

Re: Wiki - Lord Dimwit's Guide truncated
Yes, I have sent an email out on the ToME mailing list explaining the situation and what is needed. Hopefully this will stir some action!

Re: Wiki - Lord Dimwit's Guide truncated
Ok, I have a response...
Neil Stevens (the old Wiki maintainer) has been having severe problems on the old Wiki with bandwidth issues, links going wrong, spam, etc, etc. Basically it was becoming a pain in the butt!
He has therefore set the old Wiki to read only.
The new Wiki is here. Note that it is empty and we will have to port pages across to it.
Note that we can now set things up for each version (T2 and T3).
Also note that pages and files are handled differently in the new Wiki (check out Namespaces).
And I suspect our formatting might also have to change (although I have not looked at that so could be wrong)!

Re: Wiki - Lord Dimwit's Guide truncated
Has anyone created an account? I registered at http://doku.t-o-m-e.net/ but I never received the email with the password, so I cannot login. I then used 'Send new password', but the second email also never arrived. I checked my inbox, and my spam folder. I wonder if I mistyped my email, or if my email provider filtered the mail (though I often received email from the old wiki)?madmonk wrote:The new Wiki is here.
If someone else can create an account, then I would know that the wiki works, and I would try again.
Re: Wiki - Lord Dimwit's Guide truncated
It worked for me. I got a return email immediately and was able to log on.
Re: Wiki - Lord Dimwit's Guide truncated
I would suspect that certain domains are barred from receiving emails. My standard account (for this sort of thing) is an Yahoo one and it did not receive any email (just like you)...
Changing to a different account sorted the problem.
I suggest you try a different account!
