So maybe I went a bit too much on the godo side for mages?
What was your MAgic stat ? and level ?

1) ?????????
2) I dont think so, it's hardto balance
3) damned!
4) ah yes I must put borders :)
5) I believe in Freeze as it is. It can block a coridor with a frozen monster, until more can allign for a deadly manathrusting time :)

Ok now try as a rogue :)

For my comment number 1, I was thinking of limiting how many squares a spell could go across before it fizzled.
As to the rest, fair enough!

The Mage ended at Level 9 with a Magic stat of 34 (I started at 18 and added 2 per level), the remaining points went into Willpower for the Mana. Point to note here, I always preferred Staffs of Power for the increased damage rather than the increased Mana. Of course once I had the Fall, that's what I always wore (checking every time).

The Rogue, yes, I have been avoiding that. OK, next on the agenda!

The rogue...

So I meet this here Bill, and whack him a few times, and he drops a huge log on me!

Comment: I found that Stealth never worked for me until Bill, every time up until then, I would be spotted and they would all come charging up to have a party. I am aware of the Stealth radius, but I had clear evidence of monsters spotting me from very far away, clumsy so-and-so that I am.

Stealth is based on Cunning.
Get it higher and the chance to get noticed will decrease (and increase stealth level too).
Stealths breaks on attack eitehr after or before if you are noticed.

But more to the point the Rogue is the only Char with a triple requirement for Stats...

Strength for the Physical side of things...
Dexterity for the Dual wielding side of things
Cunning for the Stealth

Oh, and don't forget Constitution for the Health side of things.

That makes things awkward, and I just spent an hour running around a small section dungeon with a cave troll trying to kill it. I gave up, I was dealing it 4 points of damage on average per hit. And Flurry was not working.

So really that leaves the option of dropping Strength completely and doing the Stealth thing... or any combo of 2 out of the 3 but you can't generalise and moreover it gets very awkward later if you try and switch over to another combo.

Not that I am complaining mind you, but it is by far the most interesting char in that you have to decide which way to go right at the start. The Rogue that met Bill was a Dual-Wielding Tank. Never got any Stealth based Char going, they always die too early... Or it may be that I am playing it wrong... :D

You shouldnt need much STR, knives use both STR and DEX for their damage.
(And i'll add a str to cun talent for knives too)

Which presupposes the Stealthy way is the only way. If that is what you are after then great, and I don't have any objections.

In which case we need to lower the Strength requirements for the Physical side of things.

It's a requirement for Swordmastery and a lot of stuff in the school.

Remove the following from Physical / Weapon-Training (Mastery 1.00)
Sword Mastery (relies on STR)
Axe Mastery (relies on STR)
Mace Mastery (relies on STR)

Another point:

I have a point in Dual Weapon Training, and it states that (having 1 point/5) it reduces the damage penalty to the off-hand weapon to 56%

I place a point in it (thus giving 2/5)... It now says the damage penalty has been reduced to 68%.

I assume you mean the Damage penalty has been reduced by X%
