muscle, please be polite. And please read other posts. I already commented on the space option. Thank you.muscle wrote:Did you try ["space between words"] yet or are you just a nazi?Nerdanel wrote:- The "grammar nazi" in me absolutely hates those "WikiNames". They look malformed and distracting, and they are harder to read than if they were grammatical. Spaces between words were invented for a reason!

Hmm... we might be having a terminology issue. To me, saying "I'm a **** about foo" is a somewhat questionable way of saying "I'm strict and/or obsessive about foo". Saying "I'm a ****" (with no qualifier) is something else again. Feel free to PM me if you wish, but no further discussion on the forum, please, as it doesn't belong here. Thanks.Plus, I just took Nerdanel's nazi metaphor. That's polite enough

So far I am enjoying the wiki, and I can see the potential for it replacing the forum. The initial navigation (ie. to a discussion, or where I can ask a question etc) is not so intuitive or easy as the forum, but once you've settled, (short learning curve, but not non-existant as the forum is) it is easy and easy to use.
I replaced the term... Don't you people get metaphorical speaking? I thought I was being perfectly clear and conventional and used these things called "quotation marks" besides!
The things is, having category names like "SpoilerArchive". It is to me much worse than using singular and plural in Elvish like they were the same thing (which they are not). I don't think anyonce could hold "GeneralDiscussion" as superior to "General discussion", which takes a briefer time decoding because of the space in the middle and also does not irritate grammar fans. Advanced readers read by decoding a whole word at once and if words are not separated properly reading becomes slower and more annoying.
It is no good if I start writing articles and put spaces in the ["article name"]. If everyone else doesn't begin to do that also, that would lead to inconsistency, and be therefore even worse than the current grammar mangling, which is at least consistent and predictable.
It is nice to hear there are themes. But since it is unreasonable to demand a casual browser to register or write their own custom stylesheet just to switch to a decent theme, the default theme should be changed.
There is a time and place for searching and for browsing. I think browsing is the natural approach to well-ordered information. I think this may be related to thinking styles. I'm a top-down person and like to "walk down the hall" rather than "attempt to teleport" to some place that might not exist or exist under a different name and get disoriented while I'm at it. (Still, I have found this messageboard's search function very useful at times.)

Zothiqband -- still an Angband variant.
We should really have a link on [www.t-o-m-e.net]
to the wiki, and while we're at it add one right next to the ToME icon on the forums as well.
And well, for people who don't know what a wiki is name the link something like Tome Wiki (User Created ToME Encyclopedia) or something.
I am really excited on the amount of control and speed that you have with this. This seems to me what the internet is about.
