Can't play since graphic card driver update

#1 Post by netphenix »

Hello,

I had to update my graphic card drivers recently and since that change, I can't launch TOME. I get a blank window with the cursor and the music but a white background with nothing else. I tried safe mode via the launcher, and debug mode, even a new download from the website after backing up my addons and profile, but nothing helps. I don't even have logs to show, everything seems to freeze and loop before one is generated. Any idea would be welcome.

Okay, apparently I'm an idiot because there was a log staring at me right in the face. I'll post it here, if anyone who knows LUA can parse it and figure out what's wrong with my game, I'd be eternally grateful. I miss my Defilers. :D

The log seems to show the gane hanging while loading textures. This might be due to a corrupted file in which case reinstalling TOME might help.

However it does appear that you are running TOME in an 800x600 window (on a system with a 3840x2160 monitor). Try setting TOME to run fullscreen instead at least - if you can't access the menu to change resolution (i.e. if ESC doesn't work) try editing the %USERPROFILE%\T-Engine\4.0\settings\resolution.cfg file directly (taking a backup copy first). Setting the shader .cfg files to false may be trying also, if resolution changes don't work.

Sounds like the new graphics driver is causing the issue....

Quick Fixes:
1. Roll back to the previous driver - usually solves blank-screen problems.
2. Delete/rename the game's config folder so it rebuilds fresh.
3. Check GPU settings to ensure TMOE is using correct graphics card.

Most likely, rolling back the driver will get you back in-game quickly.
