FIXED - [1.7.6] Steam client not found - Unable to link my online profile

When clicking on the Online profile Login with steam button the game says Steam client not found.
Does anyone know what might be causing this and how to fix it?

Install is clean to my new laptop. I haven't played for about 4 years and decided to fire it up again.

Update:
I am guessing either two things happened. Firstly if a Dev heard me in my hour of need and helped me, thank thee thy valiant codemancer!
Second is that I have my desktop PC, I installed it there and it worked out of the box and by doing so somehow it worked on my laptop after. Perhaps my desktop "found" the client and as it was "found" it worked also on my laptop, something to do with Win10 (desktop) Win11 (laptop)?

Hi! I am having the same issue, but I don't have a laptop to use now to test it.
I tried to launch it through steam, through the exe, compatibility mode, run as admin, reinstalled the game and still nothing!
I am using win 10, last time I played was like 6 months ago, but now I can't even connect and get my unlocked classes and such, please any help?
