Someone in game chat asked me to update the guide I made a long time ago for Necromancer. This is more of a complete rewrite.
One thing I'd like to be very clear about where I'm still fuzzy - what stats do minions automatically inherit? Aura of Undeath explicitly gives a certain amount of quasi-inheritance where minions share your bonuses, but I remember a discussion about movement speed and I'm having trouble testing if the skeletons keep and retain a movement infusion's speed bonus.

one quick thing I caught, you don't actually have to die in the arena to go litch. You just automatically turn. No extra lives even work in the arena, which is why it works this way.
Edit: "Ghoul - Arguable as a home base for builds that will go lich as it has one shot protection and the speed penalties are less important with the way Necromancer works."
I'm not sure what you mean by this. Undead races can't go litch, so this may be a mistake if that's what you meant.
Edit 2: skeletons for sure inherit movement buffs from infusions. You just have to use it just before you summon them, as any action will cancel the movement buff, so it has to be the last buff you apply to yourself. They also inherit your damage bonuses, so you should set your staff to physical, which you get to double dip on due to aura of undeath.
Edit 3: in "Campaign-specific abilities", you say prodigy point when you seem to mean category point.
Edit 4: about prodigy recommendations, armor of shadows is notable due to 100% uptime due to spikes of decrepitude and the added bonuses of grim shadow add to it.
