[v1.7.0+] Explicit Default Cosmetics

#1 Post by Zizzo »

I reported this as a bug way back in the 1.6 betas, and while it's admittedly minor, it has not become less annoying with age. Basically, various race descriptors specify "default" choices for various cosmetic options like hair, and the Customize dialog applies those defaults when its'created — but it does not set those defaults as selected in the dialog. Which means that when you do actually select something, like a different skin color, the defaults are forgotten and your character goes bald.

The solution, of course, is to explicitly set the defaults as selected, so that that sort of thing doesn't happen. Hence my new Explicit Default Cosmetics addon. The only change you should see in the customization dialog is that a few of the options are already selected when you open it (notably hair).

[As for the future, this probably counts as a "bugfix" addon like Golem Can Pass, so I'm hesitant to include it in ZOmnibus or ZOmnibus Lite, since we'd have to claw it back out later if the bug was ever fixed.]

[Implementation notes:]

Code: Select all

Superload:
  mod.dialogs.Birther:
updateDescriptors() [to explicitly select default cosmetics]
"Blessed are the yeeks, for they shall inherit Arda..."
