Here is my top 5 classes for 1.6 (outside of possessor and adventurer - for insane), feel free to list yours !
#5: Archmage. Very strong late game but still has a small weakness in the mid game. Requires floating points imo to play optimally.
#4: Cursed. This guy is now much better. In my opinion the best melee character in 1.6 and the only one deserving top 5.
#3: Temporal Warden. Probably the easiest win for newer players. Very fast character with good one shot protection. If you ever get in trouble, you should be able to run away easily. Being able to play the mobs weakness by being both strong at melee and range means that you will rarely find ranbosses that you will not have an easy kill against.
#2: Oozemancer. This guy is slow to kill but has so much defense that he gets inevitability in most fights. Just don't get cornered.
#1: Paradox Mage. Still the best of the normal classes. Attenuate is insanely good, you can remove any sustain, ridiculous damage mitigation and your ressources are pretty much infinite with hidden ressources. No other class is that complete. Some beated madness with this class although to my knowledge nobody recorded his game to prove he didn't cheat.
