[1.6] Achieving lichdom in the ID breaks current challenge

#1 Post by Elkan »

If you complete "From death, life" While in the infinite dungeon, on a level which has a challenge you have not yet completed the challenge will enter a bugged state where it neither fails, not completes. I do not know if this applies to all challenges, but it occurred with the "Exterminate" Challenge in this run, I think I had the same happen in a much earlier version too, but didn't put 2 and 2 together in terms of the cause.
I was playing in rouge-like mode if matter for reproducing the bug. I went on to kill everything else on the level but the quest did not complete, and on moving to the next zone, the quest continued to be listed as active, rather than failed as would normally happen if you moved on without explicitly completing the quest.

It may be possible to experience the same issue with fanged collar and blood of life, but I haven't had the opportunity to test for those yet.

I think both the ID and the lichdom are heavily under issues. I never really experienced lichdom in my playthroughs.

In the EoR campaign, there are no way to become a lich (?) and in Arena, when there are only 1 life (the option is activated), I DOUBT if the killing blow make lichdom completely useless.

According to this http://forums.te4.org/viewtopic.php?f=42&t=39553 it can be used in Arena and it worked, but the Arena would be turned to an "Adventure" (not sure in Roguelike main campaign), though the next killing blow is permenant (I've got mine killed with a previous Antimagic Bulwark master)

Also, it's interesting to mention that in ID or Arena it's adviced that the player got a method to increase tree multiplier - either by a category point, a necklace, certain artifacts, or, in extreme case, the lvl 25 prodigy (CUN 50 needed) to get the effective level no less than 7.0. In that run minutes ago, I got my Staff of Bones from the ice girl soon after I transformed as an "incomplete" skill-lvl 6-lich.
