1.6.0 Writhing One lost pet WtW after Death in Sandworm Lair

Hi,
after a silly death in the sandworm lair due to a collapsed tunnel, I was automatically switched to my WtW pet. I used the suicide ability and resumed control of my character in the afterlife. I returned to the sandworm lair and attempted to summon the wtw - but nothing happened. Assuming it had appeared somewhere esle(with enough insanity I can use the summon ability, despite the worm being "active/alive" on my left overview panel) I then changed level and later even zone - but the worm stayed absent. I can use the dummy in the player fortress to gather insanity and use the summon ability as often as I want - nothing happens.
Can anyone help?
