Steam cloud issue

#1 Post by shonen »

So I ran into an issue with my latest character. Steam cloud initially recognized that the local files were newer:

[2019-03-13 20:30:28] [AppID 259680] Need to upload file tome/save/captain_cold/level-trollmire-1.teal
[2019-03-13 20:30:29] [AppID 259680] Upload Limit exceeded for file tome/save/captain_cold/level-trollmire-1.teal
[2019-03-13 20:30:29] [AppID 259680] Upload complete, result Limit exceeded

... but then seems to have hit the cloud storage limit which appears to be 2000 files.

Instead of popping up the conflict window, desc.lua and game.teag were silently overwritten by old cloud copies, demoting my character to level 1.

Is there anything I can do to regenerate these files and/or restore the character?

I've currently disabled steam cloud globally, as I don't have an option to disable it for TOME only.

The is a Steam menu in Options from the game's main menu to disable the cloud saves for ToME.

I have yet to hear about the Steam Cloud working for ToME, but then nobody posts about features that are working as expected...

Thanks, found the setting, was expecting that to be in the Steam menu rather than the TOME options. Cloud save have been working for me with the exception of this issue, but it's going to be permanently disabled for me going forward.

The character is non-recoverable, right?

Yeah. Unless you were lucky enough to be running a backup on those save files, you won't be able to recover that save.
