So, some plans that I have now:
- (Sort of) implement the Schism tree from Temporal Apostate.
- The "stronger as anomalies appear" is actually already part of a planned mechanic - I'll explain below.
- The "being you've influenced" idea might get implemented as an anomaly - the "Nemesis" backlash
Explanation: Power and Twist
The Ravaged is going to have two new "stats". The lore behind these is that you were cursed by your fellow Wardens, so that whenever you used your power, it would fall back onto you.
Because of this, you had lost most of your chronomancy powers by now, but you still have the aptitude for them.
This is where Power comes into play. Basically, as you level up your chronomantic abilities, you gain Power. And this stat is what your chronomantic powers (mostly) scale of.
So the more you use your powers, the stronger they become (lorewise).
Twist is a different thing entirely. Basically, this is what turned you into a "fallen" Warden - it is the corruption and madness that such incredible power brings.
Twist is gained through leveling up certain skills as well - but mostly only those skills that are "evil".
As you gain Twist, certain new talents unlock - more powerful ones as you gain more Twist - and existing talents "upgrade". Plus some of your talents scale with Twist as well as Power.
However, this comes at a price: Backlashes. Remember when I was talking about that curse earlier?
Yeah. Exactly that is what happens. As you gain Twist, you have a incrementing chance to cause Backlashes - these are like anomalies, except they are always bad for you.
And just like with the new skills that Twist unlocks, as you gain more Twist, you unlock new Backlashes as well...
