Remove Specific Items from Auto-Transmog

#1 Post by HarleyM »

Some items should be removed from the auto-transmog list. I just lost The Rod of Spydric Poison by mistake that way. I know I almost lost Rungof's Fang the same way. I expect there are other items too (is the Egg-sac auto-transmogged?), but I can't be sure.

I see no point to this; these are artifacts just like any other, not essential to clearing quests or beating the game. There's no reason to exclude them from transmogging because they aren't more special than anything else.
The game gives you a chance to double-check your loot and warns you at the end of each map that items left in the box will be transmogged, so if the item is important to you, all you have to do is take them out of the transmog chest or tag them, which ultimately takes them out of the box as well and makes it harder to get rid of the item.

To me the difference is that most of these items shouldn't ever really be transmorg'ed, because they have very low gold value and provide benefits without any drawback (except maybe the Egg-sac). Items that are effective even without being equipped are so rare that it strikes me as a noob trap (I know I didn't realize most of them had in-inventory effects until recently).

I'm pretty sure items aren't in the autotrasmog list only for one reason (well two but we'll come to it) : when their weight is 0. If it wasn't that, you could become encumbered just by walking around.

The only super annoying exception is the quest items and the biggest offender is the staff you get in Dreadfell that often prevents my packrat from moving after I pick it up :D
