Tried it recently, no luck.
Never was able to get Tinkering on it too, maybe it will change the situation.

I tried cornac brawler on insane with good results. I took both antimagic and tinkers. With those trees you are very tanky. Everything worked well until in east bug broke my character.

No need antimagic or tinker to get insane winner with brawler.
Combination kick + take down are the skill keys until lategame. The last key is regeneration + heal mod. If you can regen 100hp/turn and have around 70/80% crit with around 100% phys penetration a brawler is a war machine that will win easily on madness.
Only problem are orc patrolswith lot of mages. Brawler against single enemies is like fighting against dummies.
