Player's current map (level) is not loaded properly

#1 Post by tabc3dd »

The game locked down while saving (white screen, endless saving bar), so I force quit it. When trying to load it back up, the save file seems correct (my stats, stuff, quests and such are all still there), however I'm now on floor -- of the world map, which means that the whole map is black and trying to do anything pops an error. Is there any way to salvage the save file to place my character on the world map or in any dungeon so that I may resume playing with him (he's one of my best Insane Roguelike runs so I'd like to keep him :p). Could the loading system check for invalid level descriptions and send to the world map if so? Could I manually edit the level in the save file?

I've uploaded the save file to http://s000.tinyupload.com/?file_id=002 ... 4642416041 so that you may find what went wrong,
Thanks :),

So I was able to 'fix' the character by using LUA commands, one to teleport to a zone from which I could warp out using the rod of recall, then one to move myself back on the map (the rod of recall sent me in the ocean of the world map), and one to rebuild the calendar (I was getting LUA errors on each turn). However I'm afraid that other stuff might be broken, and I assume the character no longer valid for achievements/vaults if it has been tampered with.
