Not in rogue mode.
I have more than 100 hours in the game. I have tried some classes, races and mods. I have had a LOT of fun.
But I would really love to finish the game, the main one, not the orcs expansion yet.
I did great with a doombringer and an archer. Level 35-40 if I remember properly. But...at that high level any mistake can kill you if you are on the wrong place at the wrong moment...
well, anyway, the question is: what class/race would you recommend to finish the game, taking in mind that I "know" the game already? I think the archers are great. Any other idea?
Thanks!
What class is better to finish the game?

just keep going with archer/DB, they're really good "new player" classes and if you can get to that high of a level you can probably win. better to keep improving with what you know too.

Re: What class is better to finish the game?
Depends on how deep and complicated you want to go. This is IMHO, but the more advanced classes like Psionics or Chronomancers take some time to understand their principles and synergies.
For example, my first Normal/Adventure win was a Halfling Brawler. Brawler has great offense and good defense, along with some good mobility, and Halfling fits the class pretty well. They IMHO seem to lack a bit against large crowds. But unless you want to dig deep into those more complicated classes, their play is very straightforward - just pummel everything along your path.
If you want to dig deep, other people around here would probably have better answers than me.

Both Doombringer and Archer are good classes to net your first win with, as per Ster. If you want to fall asleep AND win, oozemancer is a good choice. If you want to have fun and win, Paradox Mage and Temporal Warden are good for that.
A little bit of a starters guide written by yours truly here.

Sun Paladin is a fun class that is quite tanky and strong overall. I would recommend that.

You can do some stupid things with Sun Paladin and still win (on Normal).
Re: What class is better to finish the game?
My first win was on Temporal Warden, so if you've unlocked that I highly recommend it.
You get the fun of being an archer, but as soon as enemies get close you get to immediately switch to melee. Until things get dicey, and you blink away to ranged again. The flow of melee to ranged and back is super fun.

I started playing an Oozemancer for the first time like two days ago, and I was beginning to wonder if I'd set the difficulty down some how. I feel like all their abilities are tuned 2x stronger than they should be or something.Zicher wrote:If you want to fall asleep AND win, oozemancer is a good choice.

Oozemancer is often called "Snoozemancer" for good reason
Other than that, I recommend PM, Summoner, and Solipsist for relatively easy wins. If you have an affinity for weapon classes then TW, Doombringer, Berserker, and Sun Paladin should be solid choices.

Re: What class is better to finish the game?
I actually lost the character because he was too powerful. I was so used to auto attacking my way through dungeons with regen and AMS up that when I ran into something that could hurt me I didn't even notice until I was already gone.bpat wrote:Oozemancer is often called "Snoozemancer" for good reason

I have had a lot of success with a sling Agility Archer on Nightmare. I suspect it would be pretty easy to win with an Agility Archer on Normal.
