Crash in Ruins of the Lost City - UI / Damage Shied related?

#1 Post by jonasan »

So I have encountered a crash in Ruins of the Lost City (1). Has happened repeatedly now and does not appear to be linked to a paricular behaviour on my part.... though according to the log file there does always appear to be a Gigantic corrosive tunneler around splashing me with acid.

I dont get a lua error message box or a chance to report the error.... game display simply starts to flicker on and off very fast and the game locks up.

Had a look in the log file and seems this may be the error message in question:

Map z-callback error: Z 19: /engine/Map.lua:1212: attempt to index a nil value

There are lots of these to see in the log file.

Log file is attached, class is rogue, playing in ascii mode, all shaders enabled apart from volumetric, AMD graphics, windows 10, latest version of everything from steam. Also i have taken a copy of my save directory just in case that is needed as well, though that is too big to upload here.

All being well I will get out this map and not see the error again.

....side note for our Dark Lord: EoR is absolutely amazing!

Alright, happened again, still no onscreen lua error message, but the log file was a bit more forthcoming.... this is endlessly repeated at the end of the log file:

Lua Error: /mod/class/uiset/ClassicPlayerDisplay.lua:300: attempt to perform arithmetic on field 'damage_shield_absorb' (a nil value)
At [C]:-1 __add
At /mod/class/uiset/ClassicPlayerDisplay.lua:300 display
At /mod/class/uiset/ClassicPlayerDisplay.lua:463 toScreen
At /mod/class/uiset/Classic.lua:326 display
At /mod/class/Game.lua:1732

Being as it appears to be damage shield related... I am currently equipped with 'The Untouchable' and also the belt 'Band of Protection' .... both of which provide my character with shields. I don't have a shield rune or anything else to create shields as far as I'm aware. Oh, and as you can tell from this message I am using the classic UI..... I guess swapping back to modern might get round this for now?

I have attached this new log file. Hope this helps....

Well I wasn't sure which file you wanted exactly so I have uploaded the whole save directory from the T-Engine folder to my google drive.... which you should be able to get here:

Let me know if there is anything else i can provide or if that is not the right file. Thanks.

Tried changing over to the Minimalist UI just in case that would stop the bug happening.... but no luck... same issue:

Lua Error: /mod/class/uiset/Minimalist.lua:783: attempt to perform arithmetic on field 'damage_shield_absorb' (a nil value)
At [C]:-1 __add
At /mod/class/uiset/Minimalist.lua:783 displayResources
At /mod/class/uiset/Minimalist.lua:1986 display
At /mod/class/Game.lua:1732

Log attached ;)
